Combined with the appropriate filter, the mask protects the eyes, face, and respiratory system from the effects of toxic industrial chemicals (TICs) and chemical warfare agents (CWAs) in the form of gases, vapors, and aerosols, as well as radioactive dust, bacteria, and viruses.
