Type A (Symbol: Brown)

Areas of application: Organic gases and vapors with a boiling point above 65 °C. The main group of these substances are hydrocarbons (e.g. toluene, benzene, xylene, styrene, cyclohexane, trichloroethylene, carbon tetrachloride), organic solvents and thinners (gasoline, kerosene, diesel, mineral turpentine, ethylene glycol, methyl isobutyl ketone, isobuthanol, etc.).

Type B (Symbol: Gray)

Areas of application: Inorganic gases and vapors, e.g. fluorine, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen bromide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen peroxide

Type E (Symbol: Yellow)

Areas of application: Acid gases and vapors (e.g. carbon dioxide, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, formic acid, hydrogen fluoride)

Areas of application: Ammonia and organic amines (e.g. methylamine, ethylamine, dimethylamine)
