Handling of highly infectious patients
Highly contagious, life-threatening diseases such as an infection with the Ebola virus are rare, but in a real-life scenario, they require the utmost attention and expertise. Any suspicion of a highly infectious case is an interdisciplinary emergency and requires very well-coordinated cooperation between rescue workers, emergency services, authorities, transport companies, and involved persons.
The procedures follow prescribed plans. Unfortunately, these are not standardized in many countries, or even at the European level. This often leads to uncertainties and incorrect actions within the processes. The key to success, in addition to high-quality equipment, is therefore also regular training and exercises, carried out as realistically as possible and involving all organizations involved.
CBRN.ZONE supports its customers and partners in the creation and implementation of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in the area of highly infectious emergencies, as well as the procurement of the right equipment. We are also happy to create, accompany and evaluate external exercise scenarios.
